FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT \u00a02014 (COMMENCEMENT DATE FOR \u00a0CERTAIN BODIES) ORDER 2015<\/p>\n
I, BRENDAN HOWLIN, Minister \u00a0for \u00a0Public \u00a0Expenditure and \u00a0Reform, \u00a0in exercise \u00a0of the \u00a0powers \u00a0conferred on me by section \u00a03 of the \u00a0Freedom of Infor- mation \u00a0Act 2014 (No. 30 of 2014), hereby \u00a0make \u00a0the following order:<\/p>\n
Citation<\/p>\n
1. This\u00a0 Order may be \u00a0cited \u00a0as the \u00a0Freedom of Information Act \u00a02014 (Commencement Date \u00a0for Certain \u00a0Bodies) \u00a0Order 2015.<\/p>\n
Later date for bodies in Schedule<\/p>\n
2. The 14th day of October 2015 is appointed as the later date, \u00a0as referred to in section 1(3)(b) \u00a0of the Freedom of Information Act 2014 (No. 30 of 2014), on which that \u00a0Act \u00a0(other than \u00a0section \u00a08) shall come \u00a0into \u00a0operation in relation to each body specified in the Schedule.<\/p>\n

EXPLANATORY NOTE<\/p>\n
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).<\/p>\n
The \u00a0purpose of this \u00a0Order is to \u00a0provide \u00a0a later \u00a0commencement date \u00a0under Section 1(3)(b) \u00a0of the Freedom of Information Act 2014 for the bodies \u00a0listed in the Schedule \u00a0to the Order. These bodies \u00a0will now become \u00a0subject to FOI\u00a0 under the \u00a0Act \u00a0on 14 October 2015, rather than \u00a0on the \u00a0standard commencement date for new FOI \u00a0bodies \u00a0of 14 April \u00a02015 (6 months \u00a0from \u00a0enactment) as provided for under \u00a0the Act.<\/p>\n
