Model Publication reporting requirement
Section 6(11) of the Code of Practice states that all public bodies must confirm in writing to the relevant Government Minister within 6 months of section 8 of the Act commencing or 6 months after they become an public Body if that is later, that they are in compliance with section 8 and have published the publication scheme and information in that regard.

Dispute Resolution Policy and Procedure
The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr. Brendan Howlin T.D., has issued a ‘Dispute Resolution Policy and Procedure’ , which provides for an orderly method for resolving issues raised via section 6(7) of the FOI Act where a dispute arises over whether an entity is a public body for the purposes of the Act in accordance with section 6(1), or the conditions arising by virtue of that subsection. The purpose of this policy and procedure is to enable an efficient and effective outcome for all involved in a dispute outlined above, in addition to such disputes between requesters and the Information Commissioner (OIC) and/or the relevant entity.
The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Mr. Brendan Howlin T.D., on the 14 October 2015 announced the publication of the Model Publication Scheme under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2014.

On the 14 October 2015 the FOI Act came into effect for the following public bodies:
- An Garda Síochána
- Iarnród Éireann
- Gas Networks Ireland
- EirGrid plc
- ESB Networks Ltd
